The original genre for our groups film trailer was social realism. When researching into these film trailers and gathering informaiton of which we shall need include we found it rather hard creating and thinking of other idea's of which we could include, this would be from trying to gather a whole school/ enough people to be filmed in which would make our film more realistic when thinking about this we also realised we would find it hard to film in other locations as the genre of film would not fit with certain settings which we were to use. Once making a final decision on changing our film genre we then started to look into thriller film trailers, when discovering certain films we came across one inparticular which all three of us enjoyed to watch but also boh storyline and techniqual tools and elements used in which to make it a thriller, this filmed was called "Room mate". From watching this film trailer me and my group were soon able to come up with our own film narrative, this was to be about a girl who had just joint a new school and had no friends but the "popular girl" started talking to her and became good friends with her, yet the new girl didnt like the fact that she had lots of friends and everyone loved her so she became very jealous that the popular girl was giving everyone else the same attention as she was getting and she didnt like it, so with this the new girl becomes psycho and the popular girl notcies so with this the new girl attacks her. When deciding on this we thought that instead of showing the popular girl being attack we could include a scene of the new girl washing her hands which are covered in blood but also a diegtic sound of a scream from the popular girl whilst her phone falls to the floor and later we see a numerous of miss calls and texts of her friends who she was meant to of met, we also thought the new girl could hide around corners and just stare at the popular girl popular girl without her knowing, this would be shown from an extreme close up of the actresses eyes making it very creepy and adding a climaz to our film trailer. When creating this idea we thought it would be alot easier ad we would not need many people around four at the most, we could also locate each scene in a variety of places which would make the film more realistic and interesting. We incorporated scenes with the bloody hands and phone with missed calls in as we thought it shows the thriller genre very well making it very creepy and it would also create a tension and climax throughout the trailer making the target audience wanting to watch more. In each film clip used we shall incorporate a variety of film shots such as close ups, longs shots, mid shots, establishing shots, pan round, over the shoulder and a worms eyes view shot, by using a variety of camera angles it shall help to create the thriller atmosphere and add more tension and a better climax if filmed ina slow motion effect. When editing we shall be able to incorpate non-diegetic sound which when created we shall link it with the thriller genre which shall work well witht he movement used within our film trailer.
I feel that our new film trailer idea is much stronger and with idea's we have each given towards it we shall be able to include a variety of tecniques which shall make our film much stronger and when finalised hopefully a much more naturalistic film which the target audience would enjoy. I am very excited about creating this film trailer and hopefully we shall be able to create each element of film trailer, poster and magazine before or deadline is due.
